Notifications

Notifications keep you informed about important events in Publish - device status changes, content updates, and team activity.

Accessing Notifications

From Navigation Bar

A notification badge appears on your avatar when you have unread notifications:

  • Red dot indicates unread notifications
  • Click your avatar > Notifications

Notification List

The notifications page displays all your notifications:

  • Title - Brief description of the event
  • Message - Additional details
  • Time - When the notification was created (relative time)
  • Unread indicator - Blue dot for unread notifications
  • Link - Some notifications show “View details” and link to related content

Header Actions

At the top of the list:

  • Unread count (e.g., “3 unread notifications”) or “No unread notifications”
  • Mark all as read button with checkmark icon (when you have unread notifications)
  • Refresh button to reload notifications

Time Display

  • Recent notifications show relative time: “Just now”, “2m ago”, “2h ago”, “3d ago”
  • Notifications older than a week show the date
  • Hover over the time to see the exact date and time

Marking as Read

  • Click a notification to mark it as read
  • Or click the checkmark icon on an unread notification
  • Use Mark all as read to clear all unread notifications at once

Empty State

When you have no notifications, the page displays a helpful message explaining that you’ll be notified when important events happen, such as when someone accepts your invitation.

Loading More

Click Load more at the bottom to see older notifications. The page loads 50 notifications at a time.

Notification Types

Device Alerts

  • Device Offline - A device hasn’t connected recently
  • Device Back Online - A previously offline device reconnected

Content Updates

  • Template Published - Content was published to device groups
  • Media Processing - Upload status for new media

Team Activity

  • Invitation Accepted - Someone joined your company
  • Role Changed - A team member’s role was updated

System Notifications

  • Maintenance - Scheduled system maintenance
  • Updates - New features or changes

Notification Badge

The unread count appears in multiple places:

  • Avatar - Small red dot appears on your avatar when you have unread notifications (on both desktop and mobile)
  • Notifications menu item - Shows the count in a red badge (or “99+” if over 99)

The badge updates in real-time as new notifications arrive.

Real-time Updates

Notifications update automatically:

  • New notifications increment the unread count without refreshing
  • Badge counts update in real-time
  • Click the refresh button to fetch the latest notifications

Permissions

All authenticated users can:

  • View their notifications
  • Mark notifications as read
